Alena Jarrett
Photographer/Videographer
Alena serves as LSHO’s photographer, videographer and assists with media coordination with Ranelyn. Between growing up in California and her mixed East Asian/British heritage, she’s always felt a deep rooted connection to all things Polynesian. Like many of the LSHO community, she felt inspired to learn hula when she grew up seeing characters who looked like her in Lilo and Stitch and Moana. After returning to England for university studying Contemporary Media Cultures in 2025, she found LSHO, her love for hula and a way she could help the group.
Hula provided her with a sisterhood, a way to stay active, and a chance to perform in a regimented collective, something she had been missing from her marching band days in California. She sees her purpose as to bring LSHO to the public. By capturing classes, workshops and performances and turning them into online content, she allows more people to discover the group, bringing about new ‘Ohana and new opportunities for the community.
