Danny Fasa

Head of Siva Sāmoa

Danny comes from a long lineage of Polynesian dancing. His grandmother started one of the first Polynesian dance groups in Tauranga, Aotearoa, and he has aunties and older cousins who competed in Hula and ‘Ori Tahiti at professional levels in the 1980s and 90s. He has competed and performed in Samoan and Tongan dance since the age of 5, and loves to share his knowledge of his heritage with others

Danny’s formal dance background began when he studied contemporary and American Jazz, where he worked professionally in musical theatre and in commercial dance for NZ local hip hop artists.

After a long break from dance and teaching, Danny returned to dance when he joined LSHO in 2025. Where he quickly set roots and became a Kāne lead dancer and prominent member of the school, and introduced and established the Siva curriculum to where it is now as a regular on the school’s weekly timetable. His work teaches students everything about Samoan culture, customs, language and the way of life - through music and dance.

Danny has returned to his homeland of Aotearoa, but is still involved in projects with LSHO. Continuing to stay connected to the school that made him feel like he belonged remains very important to him.
